Strong female online community, lunch with a rock star girlfriend, and my girls. I'm living my best Thankful Tuesday!

May I just say how completely thankful I am for this little community we’ve built via this blog of mine. I love all the different ways us women lift each other up thru it, and how we constructively discuss matters we don’t necessarily agree on. What absolute fun it was to post that menopause blog yesterday, the interaction, hearing all the stories of how some of you coped, are continuing to cope, and how some of you are wishing for the last day of bleeding to come was truly bonding for me. Which got me thinking about doing another one of my Thankful Tuesday posts. I’d like to start with expressing to all of you that I’m grateful for every single one of you who not only takes the time to read my daily things that make me go “hmmm” posts, but who also take the time to engage. It’s nice to know, especially on topics such as menopause, that we’re all in this together, don’t you think?

Another thing that I’m thankful for on this day is the blessing of having women in my life who inspire me even when they don’t know they’re doing it. Today I was fortunate to grab a lunch date with a girlfriend of mine who is so insanely busy, once when we were at an event I looked at the home screen of her iPhone when she placed it on the table and it said something wild like she had 4600 unread emails?!?! Can you even imagine???? I asked her how she lived like that, and her casual response was; “Oh that’s nothing.” What does that even mean, that’s “nothing??” I can’t stand knowing that I have 10 unread emails, 20 causes me to start to sweat, and anymore than that I literally lose sleep over it. I am so not good at that sort of business. But this girlfriend of mine, is number two at the CBC, she has two little kids and honestly I just don’t even know where she finds the energy, never-mind the time for lunches that aren’t related to business. But today she did. Today she and I sat and gabbed about our kids, school, dating, marriage, ours and my eldest girl’s, we even talked about our other halves. It was so good for my soul that I honestly believe it will carry me through the rest of my week like I’m on a cloud. She’s such a breath of genuine fresh air, and I’m so thankful to have her in my life and call her friend.

One more thing that I’m stupidly thankful for on this, my Thankful Tuesday, is my youngest kid will be landing in Toronto in an hour and a bit. I will have all my girls in my car by 8pm, then we will be sitting around a dining table eating, catching up and laughing. A strong, supportive community of women’s comments to read through all day long; lunch with a woman I not only admire but am blessed to call a friend, and all three of my girls at my dinner table?! Call me spoiled, because if this isn’t the best sort of Tuesday a girl could ask for then I don’t know what is?!

What are you are thankful for on Thankful Tuesday?? I’d love to hear about it.

Love SB
