I wonder what is waiting on the other side for those who believe that taking the lives of innocent people takes them to a higher level of heaven? Or that their God will be so incredibly proud of them, waiting with open arms to welcome them home for murdering unsuspecting, unarmed, vulnerable fellow human beings?
Not everybody believes in God, or an afterlife, or Karma, and I’m cool with that. To each his own, I always say. Me, I do believe that there is somebody bigger than us that we have to answer to. Some being that loves us the way we love our own children, unwavering, unfailing, and unconditionally. I also believe that this being would never, in a million lifetimes want us to knowingly, willingly, in cold blood take another person’s life.
Life is the most precious gift.
Life is the one thing we are all given, that some don’t get nearly enough of. We’re witness to this when somebody dies too young, or as is all too common now, have their lives taken from them at the hand of a mad person. Like the mother who killed her two daughters on June 25th, after posting the most heartfelt, open letter of adoration and gratitude, to them on Mother’s Day. This is a specific type of madness that blows my mind, and is a total “I CAN’T EVEN” when a mother takes the life of their own child/children.
But, this whole notion that killing people allows the murderer to be “closer to their God” is a big, fat, “I CAN’T EVEN.”
Since sadly there isn’t much any of us can do to take the pain of the ongoing random loss of life away; I will offer up my deepest condolences, and share that my heart breaks for everybody who will not hold their child, make love to their lover, or share wine and laughs with a dear friend tonight. I’m sorry for your loss, and I can only hope, and pray, that someday all this senseless violence will come to an end, and that we may walk together in harmony, and peace. In order for me to continue to have faith in this crazy world, I’m choosing to believe that the innocent ones are the people who get those “special” spots in heaven…
Rest in Peace every loved one who has been taken too soon.
“May I be happy.
May I be peaceful.
May I be free.
May my friends be happy.
May my friends be peaceful.
May my friends be free.
May my enemies be happy.
May my enemies be peaceful.
May my enemies be free.
May all beings be happy.
May all beings be peaceful.
May all beings be free.”
