Practice kindness every day, but around the holidays it's especially important...
Happy Christmas Eve for those who celebrate, and for those who don’t Happy Saturday! All I want to share today are my wishes that we all spend today, tomorrow and the dreaded boxing day, focused on giving extra kindness, and warmth to our fellow man. For a great many people the holidays are usually times of celebration, being together with family, and loved ones. For too many others, it is a time of sadness, and loneliness. Perhaps they feel sadness because they’re new to a country, awaiting the arrival of family. Or maybe their nearest and dearest have passed. Wherever you find yourself today, tomorrow and moving on into the New Year, let’s all vow to focus on assuming the best of every single person we come in contact with. From the person cutting in front of you in traffic, or being rude in a line, or that old friend who hasn’t talked to me in many months, and sent me a card, to a parent who chooses to be estranged. No matter the status of somebody’s relation to me I will be focusing my heart on sending them my loving energy today, and every day. After all, love heals everything, including ourselves.
Merry Christmas Eve and remember…you are not alone, not today, not tomorrow, not ever. Everybody you lay your eyes on has their own set of disappointments, upsets, hurts, and pain that they are working through, just because somebody’s life looks a certain way on social media, in magazines, or simply passing by them on the street. You don’t know the truth about their lives, just as they don’t know what is really happening in your heart and soul.
Remember this as well; giving a smile to a stranger also makes your heart joyful. Giving joy brings joy, spreading kindness to a stranger pulls you up out of your own struggles if only for two minutes. If you don’t believe me, try it today, and if you’re staying in for the rest of your today, try tomorrow. Kindness and love don’t cost you a thing and keep this in mind while you’re spreading it…
The funny thing is, nobody ever really knows how much anybody else is really hurting. We could be standing next to somebody who is completely broken and we wouldn’t even know it. (author unknown)
So spread your love, even if you don’t feel love, you never know who’s life you’re changing.
