Is world peace really too much to ask for???

No wonder it doesn’t feel like Christmas. This week alone has seen the loss of 109 innocent people, with another 296 injured. Guys it’s only TUESDAY today!!

Sunday gave us Jordan and the loss of 1o lives with 34 others injured. If you add the attacks in Yemen, Libya and Syria it brings the total lives lost on Sunday alone to 63, with another 71 people injured.

Monday, yesterday, with the Berlin Christmas market being the one the media is talking about the most; saw the lives of 18 people cut too short. But when you consider the entire day, and other terrorist attacks, another 18 civilians also lost their lives, and 82 innocent people out living their lives, the way we all do each and every day, injured.

Every single day people filled with more rage than courage attack unsuspecting every day people. It is maddening, and it is flat out wrong. The thing that makes me go “hmmm” about these suicide bombers, and extremists is if they’re so bad-ass, if they believe in their cause, their God, whatever it is that drives them to commit such heinous acts of violence, why don’t they all just band together and call war. Call war on America, Germany, France, Turkey. You know why they don’t call war? I have a theory as to why not. They don’t because they’re pussies. It’s because they know if they actually came out of hiding, came to the “front lines” and tried to defeat all these great nations in an organized battle of war, they would lose, and they’re not in the business of losing, they’re like the bully on the playground who teases, pokes and annoys, but never flat out fist fights. He doesn’t fist fight because he’s not entirely sure he can win.

This is how I see ISIS and all other “extremist” groups. They won’t actually fight, they just want to scare everybody into letting them say and behave however they want. And something has to change, something has to give, we cannot allow a group of few take from so many. Until we figure it out, I for one am going to continue to meditate on peace, and try to find some joy in my heart to celebrate the Christmas season with faith that a better world is coming. John Lennon called for it years ago…seems like some things never change…

So today hug your loved ones a little bit tighter, make sure everybody who matters to you knows just how much they matter, and then collectively turn your focus, your hearts, your attention from the worldly, material matters of this life and pray like you’ve never prayed before for a better world. A kinder world. A loving world. And let us ask forgiveness for those who are so filled with hatred that they might find peace in their souls thanks to the collective consciousness for unity and the prayers of many.
