2016 can quit now...RIP George Michael I loved you...

Of all his songs, from all his albums the one that resonated with me the deepest is this one…ONE MORE TRY I feel like he telling his first lover to be honest with him, and that he was asking the world to take him as he was, which was gay. I feel like he was telling the world, his fans who thought he was a straight male sex symbol, that if they couldn’t then they should let him go. Maybe it was for his father, coming from a Greek family it must not have been easy for him to be out. But whoever it was really for, I felt his soul pleading with me through his lyrics.

And I want you to know that I do so love you George Michael. I loved you from the very first time I saw your video WAKE ME UP BEFORE YOU GO GO…I loved you after you stood brave in a time when coming out while you were one of the sexiest “straight” pop-stars was something nobody had done. I loved you while you battled your demons. I loved you during your “comebacks” I have always loved you…may you know that now I love you still.

My you finally, at long last RIP knowing just how deeply you were loved: “so if you love me, say you love me, but if you don’t, just let me go…”

Today we let you go, but know that I/we loved you. Goodbye…goodbye…goodbye…

“One More Try”

I’ve had enough of danger
And people on the streets
I’m looking out for angels
Just trying to find some peace
Now I think it’s time
That you let me know
So if you love me
Say you love me
But if you don’t just let me go

‘Cause teacher
There are things that I don’t want to learn
And the last one I had
Made me cry
So I don’t want to learn to
Hold you, touch you
Think that you’re mine
Because it ain’t no joy
For an uptown boy
Whose teacher has told him goodbye, goodbye, goodbye

When you were just a stranger
And I was at your feet
I didn’t feel the danger
Now I feel the heat
That look in your eyes
Telling me no
So you think that you love me
Know that you need me
I wrote the song, I know it’s wrong
Just let me go

And teacher
There are things
That I don’t want to learn
Oh the last one I had
Made me cry
So I don’t want to learn to
Hold you, touch you
Think that you’re mine
Because it ain’t no joy
For an uptown boy
Whose teacher has told him goodbye, goodbye, goodbye

So when you say that you need me
That you’ll never leave me
I know you’re wrong, you’re not that strong
Let me go

And teacher
There are things
That I still have to learn
But the one thing I have is my pride
Oh so I don’t want to learn
Hold you, touch you
Think that you’re mine
Because there ain’t no joy
For an uptown boy
Who just isn’t willing to try

I’m so cold
Inside
Maybe just one more try

May you rest in peace, and finally have a Happy Peaceful Christmas wherever you are now. And if you’ve never heard this song, take a quick listen to it… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bG5N3GC-m20
